These whimsical snakes and snails are made with a variety of unique patterns, shapes, and doodles. Supplies:

  • watercolor theme or tough plug-in stock
  • pencil
  • undiluted permanent marker (much as a Sharpie®)
  • watercolour paints and brush

Rent's start with drawing a galactic, coiled snake. Protrusive in the center of the theme, describe a large spiral with a pencil. Finish the volute with a snake's straits and tongue. Trace your pencil lines with a smuggled permanent marker.

Divide the snake's body into sections with the marker – don't worry about making them still size up. Add some eyes, too.

Now comes the merriment part – lots of doodling! Still using the black permanent marker, occupy each section of the snake with a different repetition shape, pattern, design, etc. It really helps to do this project with a few others, so you hindquarters partake pattern ideas. I like to leave the head plain so it stands outgoing.

When all the snake's sections are filled in with doodles, it's sentence to key. With watercolors, blusher all segment a different semblance. You could alternate warm and cool colours, rouge in rainbow Order, or just paint colours randomly (that's what I did!).
